Dropbox Spaces Beta
We‘re pausing the development of Dropbox Spaces on January 4, 2023. Dropbox Spaces is currently in beta and is subject to additional terms.
Notes:
- Your project files and links will remain in the “Spaces” folder in your Dropbox account.
- Your project plans and tasks will be inaccessible after January 4, 2023.
- We recommend copying them to another tool or program, such as Dropbox Paper, before then.
How to locate your Dropbox Spaces files and folders
Every project you created in Dropbox Spaces is linked to a “Spaces” folder in Dropbox. When you add a file or link, those items are stored in that folder for easy access and safe keeping. To locate your “Spaces” folder in Dropbox:
Dropbox Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Navigate to your team member folder.
- You’ll see individual folders for each project you created in Dropbox Spaces.
- Click a project folder to view all files and links associated with that project.
If you can’t find a project in your “Spaces” folder, then the project was created by someone else in Dropbox Spaces. To determine who the owner of a project is:
- Log in to Dropbox Spaces
- Navigate to the project Space
- Click Share.
The owner is listed in the upper right. If you need files from their project, reach out to the owner to ask for access.
Note: We also recommend relocating all projects into a shared folder so you can give access to those who need it.
Dropbox Basic, Plus, Professional, and Family
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click the “Spaces” folder.
- You’ll see individual folders for each project you created in Dropbox Spaces.
- Click a project folder to view all files and links associated with that project.
How to save your tasks and plans
Dropbox Spaces doesn’t back up tasks and plans in Dropbox the same way as project files and links. In order to save your tasks and plans, you’ll need to manually copy information over to a new tool of your choice.
We highly recommend copying your tasks and plans to Dropbox Paper.
To copy your tasks and plans to Dropbox Paper:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Create a Paper doc.
- Enter your project name and description
- Locate the black toolbar at the bottom of the page.
- Click the calendar icon to create a project block.
- Click the checkmark icon to add specific tasks.
Note: You can set due dates and add assignees for any tasks you add.
- Click the checkmark icon in the top right to see a Things to do list of all tasks and navigate to specific tasks.
